It is a small horizontal painting, one which can be hung on a wall, but would also look great if displayed on an easel or a bookshelf.
One of my favorite things to photograph is views looking out of museums. Most of our energy goes to viewing what is inside a museum, going through gallery after gallery, but there are some lovely views when you stop look out the windows of these institutions.
I visited The Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia many, many years ago and this was one of the views looking out across the Neva from an upper floor.
But it is really a painting about how architecture and urban landscapes can be inspiring.
It will be on view at The Peacock Gallery in Corning, New York as part of the 2026 Summer Group Show starting Monday, July 27 until Friday, August 21, 2026.
The Evelyn Peeler Peacock Gallery is open weekdays from 9am – 5pm.
