“Sunday Morning Race” Oil Painting by Barbara Hall Blumer

Framing "Sunday Morning Race" today — It's based on a memory of the sailboat races we'd see on the lake on Sundays during the summers. It's one of my Little Worlds paintings. I placed a pen in the second photo so you can see its size.

Little Worlds are a series of paintings that I have been doing over the years now.  The concept behind them is "a permission slip for myself" to create whatever little world I want within the 2.5 circle.  They are mounted on wooden medallions with gold matte circle frames on 4 x 6 collages of defunct paper money (which I've cut up) from our travels around the world, and origami paper.  As if the viewer is peering into this little world I have created.  This is the ninth one, I think.

The frame is less heavy than the previous ones I was using.  It's 7 x 9 inches, black wood with gold fillet liner.

Later this summer, I plan to post photos of all of the Little Worlds together.
