In October of 2022, I made the trek to Cape Cod to take John MacDonald's last workshop before he retired.  He is an inspiring, very gifted painter and instructor, and an all around nice person.  

This small landscape is the result of trying many of the things he suggested, including a making a thumbnail, then a monochromatic underpainting, then adding color and playing with shapes and edges. 

This isn't a specific place.  Mood was the goal.
