This is an old painting that I played around with today because I haven't painted in a few weeks and I am feeling very rusty. It's an imaginary landscape, a dream-like view of a lake under a full moon. I added the trees on the right. Pumped up the luminosity of the lake. And unified the darks in the sky. The cloud and moon were already there as were the hills in the middle ground and the foreground. Second photo shows a common painter's trick. When you take a photo of a painting and turn it to black and white you can see your values more clearly and determine if the painting is going the direction you would like it to go.
