Boots - 2nd session
.jpg)
Here's what it looked like after my first painting session when I blocked it in.
Straight from the Tube
To respond to LMRLady's question --- Straight from the Tube is an idea from years ago where my challenge was to paint with color straight from the tube --- on white, un-toned canvas --without mixing very much --- and to see what I could do with these bright, often vibrant, colors.
It is also was based on creating shapes and patterns on the canvas, more than creating a sense of space. And, the other requirement I made for myself was to use my physical space at home as a jumping off place for creating symbolic (to me) environments.

The room on the left is empty. The room on the right is bright and filled. The piano became yellow because it was fickle. I used a pattern from our dining room carpet as the wall. They are meant to be imperfect, yet balanced, if I can put it off.
This probably more than you wanted to know! But that's what Straight from the Tube is ---thanks for asking.
